Abstract
Droopy shoulder syndrome (DSS) is characterized by abnormally low-set shoulders and long swan neck, which leads to traction on the brachial plexus, without any signs of neurological abnormality. Patients with DSS often complain of pain at the neck or shoulders, and of paresthesia at the upper limbs aggravated by downward traction and relieved by passive elevation of the upper limb. Visualization of the 1st-2nd thoracic vertebra on lateral radiograph of the cervical spine is a cardinal finding of this disorder. We describe here a patient with DSS using a figure-of-eight bandage to alleviate suffering and append lateral radiograph of his cervical spine before and after wearing figure-of-eight bandage.
